Gods Unchained: What is it and how do you play it?

Through immutability, tokenization, and decentralization, blockchain opens up a huge number of ways to change the game. The technology has greatly increased the range of traditional trading and collectible card games by making the ideas of ownership, scarcity, interoperability, transparency, and play-to-earn more accessible to everyone (P2E).

Trading card games (TCG) used to only be exciting at school lunch tables and fan get-togethers, but thanks to blockchain gaming, they are now really exciting all over the world.

Gods Unchained shows what trading card games will be like in the future. It lets you play with over 1,500 different cards that show the different mythical gods and their strengths and weaknesses.

What does Gods Unchained mean?

Digital trading card game Gods Unchained has fast-paced gameplay and strategic deck building. In order to win, players must choose one of six gods, build decks of 30 cards, and use strategy to outsmart, beat, or wipe out their opponents.

The goal of each game is to reduce the power of the opponent’s guard to zero. This is done by making strategic decisions, managing resources, and fighting with cards.

Gods Unchained’s strength

If you want to know who made Gods Unchained, the answer is Immutable, an Australian company that makes games.

The studio is also working on several projects in the gaming and blockchain space, such as a nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace, a metaverse gaming offering, and a decentralized gaming platform. Gods Unchained is a fun game because it has a wide variety of cards, a meta that is always changing, and frequent updates and events.

The tale

Gods Unchained is a trading card game based on the blockchain that lets players travel through the rich fantasy world of Eucos. Heroes who aren’t gods use powerful magic to win epic battles and deal with the six domain gods, whose wishes are often at odds with each other. The titans have defeated and locked up the gods. They have also ruined the world and made people their slaves. But a few humans have become god-like and are using their powers to fight the titans and free humanity.

Players collect and trade digital cards that show the champions, spells, artifacts, and creatures of Eucos. Each card tells a different story, both big and small, through its detailed artwork and statistics. Expansion sets like “Light’s Verdict” and “Winter Wanderlands” add new stories, characters, and content all the time.

Gods Unchained has fun gameplay, and as the stories of Eucos continue to unfold, players can look forward to many more exciting adventures in this lively, always-changing world.

How to Play: An Overview of Gods Unchained

In a test of skill and strategy, players go up against each other. They each take a turn playing cards, making moves, and using the powers of their gods to get ahead. The goal is to get your opponent’s health down to zero and win. The game moves quickly and has a lot of action. It also has a lot of turns and twists to keep players on their toes.

Picking gods and what powers they have

At the start of the game, each player chooses which of the six gods or goddesses of light, death, nature, deception, war, and magic they want to work with. Each god has its own set of cards, strengths, and weaknesses. Choosing the right god can give the players a strategic advantage in the game.

At the beginning of the game, players must also choose one of three unique god powers that give them special abilities and advantages. These god powers can change the course of a game, give a strong advantage, or attack an opponent out of the blue. They are made to be powerful without breaking the game, so that players can still enjoy a fair and balanced experience.

Making decks of cards

Then, the players make their decks of cards in a strategic way. There can be no more than 30 cards, and each one must have its own abilities, stats, and artwork. Players can build a strong deck by putting together different kinds of cards in different ways.

The key to success can be a deck full of spells that do a lot of damage. Some people like to use a deck full of strong creatures to win by force. With so many different cards to choose from, the options are endless.

Getting into the game

At the start of the game, players enter the “Mulligan” phase, where they can shuffle their decks and get rid of cards that may not be useful at first. It’s smart to get rid of cards that need more mana (but more on mana later).

Then, players use their cards to attack the cards or gods of their opponents. Each card has an attack value and a health value. When a card’s health value drops to zero, it is taken out of play.

Players can also use their god power to get an edge over their opponents. Each god power gives the player a unique ability that they can use once per turn if they have enough mana.

As players move up in ranks, they get things like flux, favors, starts, native GODS tokens, card packs, and more.

Understanding mana

In Gods Unchained, mana is very important. Each card in a deck has a cost in mana, and in order to play it, the player must have enough mana on their mana wheel.

The mana system is a key part of the game that requires players to manage their resources so they can play their cards and win.

Gods Unchained has many ways to play.

Gods Unchained has different ways to play that players can enjoy. Each gives players a different experience and forces them to build their decks and learn how the game works.

Listed pairs

This is the main mode of play, in which players compete against other players of the same rank. Each win gives the player experience points, stars, and ranking points, which help them move up the ranked ladder.

Players can reach the following ranks: Rusted Bronze, Purified Bronze, Rusted Iron, Purified Iron, Impact Meteorite, Astral Meteorite, Twilight Shadow, Midnight Shadow, Auric Gold, Solar Gold, Ethereal Diamond, and Mythic.

Play every day and earn

This is the main way that players earn money within the game. Every day, players get new decks to play with and earn GODS for completing daily goals and winning games.

Every weekend, players can take part in the Weekend Ranked Event, which gives them valuable card packs from the latest expansion sets.

Tutorial missions

New players start with tutorial missions that teach them how the game works and give them card packs when they finish. They are a great way for new players to learn how to play and add to their card collection.

Solo mode

Gods Unchained also has a solo mode where players can test out new decks and strategies against an AI opponent without worrying about their rank or rewards.

Challenge straight on

Gods Unchained players can invite their friends to play by making a unique code for them to join.

The cards and deck are the heart and soul.

Before a battle, players put together their 30 cards into a deck. Decks show how a player likes to play, and putting together a good one is the key to winning. The cards show attack and health values, as well as how much mana is needed to play.

Cards in Gods Unchained are put into groups based on their theme (i.e., which gods or goddesses the cards align to). Cards that don’t belong to a specific domain are called “neutral,” and they can be used in any deck.

Three types of cards are used to play the game:

  • Creature cards: These attack the opponent’s choice of god or creatures. Players can have up to six creature cards on the board at once.
  • Spell cards: These cast spells determined by their text. Once used, they are sent to the void.
  • Relic cards: These give players supporting options or allow their god to attack directly. Only one relic card can be active at once, and casting one will replace the previous one.

Beginners may find it hard to make a winning deck, so the game gives them six options for starter decks.

Gods Unchained also has card sets, which are groups of cards that are all about the same thing (free-to-play, promotional, expansion and one-of-a-kind). As with most digital trading card games, new sets are always being made available.

Gods Unchained cards can also be divided into plain and shiny based on how well they work in the game:

  • Plain cards: Non-NFT cards with gray borders; earned by playing the game. They are not tradable on any marketplaces. However, two or more of the same plain card can be transformed into an NFT shiny card by forging (i.e., fusing) them using GODS and flux.
  • Shiny cards: The Gods Unchained NFT cards. Variants include meteorite, shadow, gold and diamond.

Specific Cards in Gods Unchained are part of card tribes that show which faction they belong to and give them special abilities in the game. For instance, Anubian cards can bring back creatures that have been thrown away from the void. Aether, Amazon, Anubian, Atlantean, Dragon, Guild, Mystic, Nether, Olympian, Structure, Viking, and Wild are all tribes in Gods Unchained.

Last, you can tell what cards are in Gods Unchained by how rare they are:

  • Common (gray gem)
  • Rare (blue gem)
  • Epic (purple gem)
  • Legendary (yellow gem)
  • Mythic (red gem)

With so many different ways to mix and match cards, there are almost endless ways to play.

GODS is the Gods Unchained ecosystem’s blockchain token.

The Gods Unchained native utility token, GODS, which is issued by Gods Unchained, is an important part of the game experience. It is used in almost every part of the Gods Unchained ecosystem and makes the engagement loop stronger.

With a fixed amount of 500 million, there are many ways for players to get GODS rewards. In daily play and earn, players get fragments based on their rank and how often they win. At the end of the event, these fragments are turned into GODS tokens.

The number of active players, their rank, and the size of the daily prize pool all affect the conversion rate. Through “Offering of the GODS” manual staking, GODS token holders can also get more GODS rewards for actively contributing to the ecosystem by playing, trading, buying, and forging during each reward period.

The GODS token is designed to reward players for helping to grow the game and build a healthy ecosystem. This is done through community events, surprise rewards, content creation, referrals, and other methods. 61.5% of the GODS supply is set aside for ecosystem development.

Favor and sanctum’s beauty

In Gods Unchained, players can build up a resource called favor, which is based on the idea of making the gods happy. From the sanctum, where the gods watch the battles, this can be used to buy powerful cards from any realm.

Favors are basically rewards for things you do that make the gods happy. At the start of each new game, Favor is set back to 0. This adds another layer of strategy and makes the game less predictable, which makes it more fun to play.

Flux opens up NFT’s possibilities

In Gods Unchained, flux are resources that can’t be bought or sold. They are similar to favors in this way. You can only get them by winning. How much flux a player gets depends on their rank and how many games they play in The Gauntlet of the Gods.

With Flux and GODS, two or more copies of a core card can be forged into an NFT card that can be sold on NFT marketplaces. Basically, players can make digital assets that exist in the real world. In parallel, it qualifies as a P2E NFT card game.

Stars and the Star Shop: Another way to get rewards

Stars are another off-chain resource that is tied to player accounts. Players who win a ranked game get a “Star Vial” that has a random number of stars in it.

Six Star Vials can be given to a player:

  • Nebula Vial: 40 to 60 stars
  • Giant Vial: 100 to 200 stars
  • Supergiant Vial: 200 to 300 stars
  • Supernova Vial: 400 to 600 stars
  • Galactic Vial: 1,000 to 1,200 stars
  • Universal Vial: 2,000 to 2,500 stars

When a player opens a vial, they may also move up to the next level. The star store has a rotating list of cards that players can trade their stars for. These cards range from common to legendary. This store does not carry NFT cards. This blockchain-based game is not like other online collectible card games because it has such great rewards.
